As time goes on and we experience the joys and blessings along with the disappointments and losses in life it gives reason to ponder the reality of just how brief our stay here in this life can be. I had been giving myself to just those kind of thoughts one day when I began writing the song "Last Time For Everything". I wrote the first verse and chorus ... I felt a strong connection to the words as they flowed from my heart through my pen to the paper. But as life will do, I got busy and became distracted on to other things ... you know how it is.
Believe it or not, I got the beginnings of "Last Time For Everything" before the tragic events that occurred on 9/11. After emotionally digesting the magnitude of that world changing day, I remembered the song I had started writing a few months before. I thought about the lyrics ..."I still taste his kiss, warm on my lips. Feel fire in his touch. And the love that I miss. Hear those three little words each time he said good-bye. It's like he always knew what I now realize. There's a Last Time For Everything A tomorrow that never comes. A moment you never dreamed could leave so many dreams undone. One thing in life is certain. It's not as certain as it seems. So while there's blue sky above you. Take the time to say I Love You ... There's a Last Time For everything."
It made me think of the firemen, the police officers who gave their lives. The innocent victims that worked in the towers. The families, wives, children, brother, sisters, mothers, aunt uncles, friends who were left in shock and devastated. I dug my song out and decided to finish it in honor of those who had passed and those who were left to continue on.
The next day I had an appointment to write with my great friend Curtis Wright. I played him what I had and he loved it and connected to it deeply too because his sister had just passed away. He was still in his grieving and period of accepting and understanding. Although I had really wanted to finish my song on my own, something told me that of all the people on this earth, Curtis was who I wanted to finish the song with. He was at my door that day for a reason. We have been great friends for years and we both have a heart-bond that only comes from true friendship. We sat together at my kitchen table and finished it in no time. We always get inspired when we are together.
Curtis did a demo of it on his next session. He sang a version and so did I. I loved that it was recorded for people to to hear. I secretly wished that I could be the one to bring this message to the world. But I stayed open to the idea of pitching it to other artists and getting a cut by someone who was currently reaching the public with their music.
Some more time passed, and I happened to be having lunch with my long time legendary friend, Bobby Braddock! He has always been such a sincere and loyal supporter of me and my music and my songs. He was talking about how much he loved my song "Last Time For Everything", as well as a few others, and he offered to book a recording session to produce three tracks on me. I was so excited! We had all the best players lined up to record! It was perfect! I was getting to be in the studio recording and on top of that I was working with one of the greatest talents in the industry who just happened to be one of my all time best of best best friends! ! !
I was so excited and geared up for the session. Then out of the blue, Raymond, my wonderful husband got an early morning phone call about the sudden death of his dad, Jim Webb. Jim had had a heart attack. It was heart breaking and horrifying news. We were numb from the unbelievably sad news.
Raymond's family is so sweet and caring. Jim was a jewel of a person and everyone who ever knew him loved him and thought the world of him. There is nothing Jim wouldn't do to help a friend. He was just that kind of person, so real and so kind.
Earlene, Raymond's sweet Mother was just devastated. In fact, the whole family was in shock. I had no intention of missing out on honoring Jim at his memorial service and funeral. I wanted to be there with all my heart. I was planning on it. But I got a call from Earlene and she told me Jim loved me and loved my music and he would not have had it any other way but for me to stay and do my session with Bobby. She insisted. Raymond insisted. I really wanted to go to Texas to be with my family there, but they wanted me to follow through with my plans to record. So I did, but it was very difficult. When it came time to sing "Last Time For Everything" of course I was thinking of Earlene and Jim. It was very emotional for me. The loss of Jim was so immediate and so close to home. It was difficult to make it through the song that night in the studio, but I did and as I sang, I felt it was a tribute to Jim and Earlene.
The whole experience made me think of so may loved ones who have come and gone ... so many irreversible moments in time. I watched as my Mother lost my Daddy, then later her sweet Billy, her baby brother, her sisters. I have lost many friends, such as Don Gant, Merlin Littlefield, Shel Silverstein, Eddie Struzick, Danny West and other family members like my brother n law and great musician, Wesley Stafford. Even the loss of our pets can create a tremendous void in our lives. It makes you realize all we really have in this world is each other. The bottom line is 'While there's blue sky above you ... take the time to say I love you ... cause There's a Last Time For everything'.
I truly appreciate you taking the time to read this and for listening to this song which means so much to me.
I would love to hear your feelings about what you hear.
Love and happiness always,

I can't remember when I was so moved by a song. From the beautiful acoustical introduction to the soft orchestration, the music just carried my soul while the lyrics just kept pounding on my heart. "There is a Last Time for Everything" reminds me of all the last times I did something with a loved one, friends, lost loves, my grandma. Its bittersweet; its real; and, it's an instant classic. It left me in tears and yet glad to have come face to face with one of the most important lessons in life: "There is a Last Time for Everything"!
Wow, Deborah, heartfelt and sad your song and your letter ! - Wonderful true lyrics.
God bless
Swiss, Rose
Very beautiful song. I hope you have it available for purchase soon.
Big hugs,

There is a point in life that these words from your heart come to tell all our stories and to reach deep into our hearts. As always, your words, your voice and your talent shine through.
I heard you perform the song at The Reserve in Laurel last Christmas, and it gave me chills. Last time that happened to me was when I heard Harry Chapin try out "Cat's in the Cradle" on a live audience in the late 1970's. Some song's touch a deep truth in your soul. This is one of them.
the song is great!
Hope its a huge hit Deborah, great song, been hearing you perform it several times at The Swallow in Atlanta. You are long, long overdue for a chart topper. Keep us all posted on it's radio release, and much success. Jeff

Sometimes, I think you read my mind. The dearest friend I will ever know passed away before I could tell her good-bye. But she knew I loved her because I never missed an opportunity to tell her so. She has been in my thoughts a lot lately. She would've loved this song -- and so do I. ...
Oh I think it's super Deb! Great lyrics

Thank you your biggest fan
I love this song! It really makes you think.
This song really speaks to me about what happened to me 19 years ago February 23. My husband was going on a fishing trip and we had been arguing because I didn't want him to go this time. He called right before he left and said he loved me. My last words to him were "I love you too". The next afternoon I received a call from a sheriff in Clarksville, TN letting me know Garry was not coming home. There was a boating accident and he froze to death in the lake. Your song made me think back to that time and remember how glad I was that he called and gave me a chance to say something nice since it would be the last time I would ever speak to him. The song is wonderful!
Wow Deborah,
I just love this song! It is so completely honest, and sweet. You are an awesome writer, and person
Scarlett
Deborah,
That is a very beautiful song, I enjoyed it very much. My heart longs for loved ones past too. My mother and father have gone on to heaven, yet I have a peace within me knowing that. Shortly before my mothers accident one day she was at my home. We were outside walking in the yard and I said "Mother, I want you to know something! I admire you, you never forget a birthday, your always helping others and I just want you to know I love and admire you!" Well, you should have seen the prettiest smile that I got to see! I'll never forget that moment! She was a special lady, a few weeks later she was gone in the blink of an eye.......My dad and I said I love you to one another all the time, one night he fell to the floor in his home, gone unecspectedly in an instant, we had talked about Heaven and our Lord Jesus a lot the last year or so of his life. My peace comes from knowing where they are, yet I miss them and I love them. There is a last time for everything, here where we are. May, God Bless You and Your's.......... :)
What a true song...you never know when the last time you say "I Love You" will be the last time. It is always important to say it to anyone who you find precious in your life. Even if you don't get along with or have had a fight with ... it don't matter. Cause there are people out there who won't get that chance again. Best thing to do is to remember how fortunate you are and don't take it for granted. Cause one day it could be you in those shoes!
I heard deborah sing since i was i have almost all her cds and enjoy her signing shes one of the best and always will be i love this song it fits her. Makes me think of my family who passed on i love them and miss them very much. Deborah i got a black and autograph picture of you in a frame i cherish it alot it was when i first joined front row every thing i got at that time i kept it has been years tho :-). Your and i am your # 1 fan and always will be your the greatest and in my heart you will always be
Very nice, Deb. It should hit home with all of us.
What a beautiful song Deborah!!!!! Just fantastic!!!
Deborah,
Your song will touch many, I was one of them. I lost my baby brother this past year tragically and my last words to him were not "I Love You" because I thought he was still going to be in the kitchen when I was getting ready for work..(he lived with me) and when I came out..he was gone. That was the last time I saw him. Then I lost my sidekick "Duchess" my dog, I had her for 17 years..(as you stated, a pets loss is hard as well).
Anyway, not to improvise on my loss's, we all have them. We should all realize that grieving is different for everyone. May your song " A Last Time For Everything" reach the listening ears of the world and touch those who need your penned words.
I write too Deborah and have found that there are times when you think you have it all yourself...but God never intended us to do anything alone..so co-writing is a magical experience! I call it the "Noah Moment" when you can create a "song" with other's. So be blessed that you had that moment with Curtis (it was meant to be).
My favorite line in your song is "One thing in life is certain, it's not as certain as it semms" WOW!
So today, I don't know why I came across your song, but it reached me and touched my heart.
Bountiful Blessings to you!
Debra
Wow..this is so very beautiful. Please put this in some format for us to purchase be it CD or ITunes. So many would find comfort in these lyrics.
Deborah, I'm so proud of you and I know Wesley is proud and smiling down on you, along with all the loved ones we have crossed path with in our life's journey. Wesley still has my heart. Your song really touched me and it so true! I'll never forget my goodbye and the last time Wesley and I spoke just before I left for Nashville and him to eventually to follow; thinking in both of our hearts that we had a lot of love and time ahead of us when he got here. As you know his life was cut short along with his wonderful voice and talent.
So, thank you little sister for this beautiful song and memories; it is all so true "There Is A Last Time For Everything" and it can come at any moment in life.
You are a Blessing with your songs and lyrics to so many. I love you little sister.
Deborah,
Someone said 'Can you tear their heart out when you sing?' (I think it was about Hank Williams) Well, that's what your song will do. Release it.
Deborah,
Wow!! This made me stop in the middle of my work day and reflect--brought tears to my eyes. I am going right now to call my husband and have him listen to it (and tell him I love him one more time). Some living and losing makes some of us KNOW that "last time" in many everythings! Your words are stirring and your voice lifts up the emotions your words bring up inside. One of my favorites of yours!! Now, I've got to start sharing it with everybody I know..want to share the impact! Press on! Cynthia Z. (cuz)
What a great song. It says it all. We need to live our ;ives to the fullest and let everyone around us know what we really feel. You need to release this song. If you have a heart you will love this song.

Deborah, awesome song and letter. Makes me think how grateful I am to have made sure I always told my folks I loved them before they passed on. Life as we know it is short and we cloud it with trivial things and stuff. When the real meaning is that which comes from knowing time is of the essence to care, share and be appreciative of the human element more then what is material. Thanks Deborah, I am grateful to have had you ask me to write on this site. David Coe.
Wow! Amazing! The latest in a long line of powerful songs from Deborah!
Fanatastic song! You've got to release this song. Your voice is still awesome. Go for it Memphis Girl.

Very moving. It's a message that we all need to remember, but we seem to forget in our day-to-day bustle.

First off, be proud of it. If no one ever hears it but you, sessions with songs like that don't happen very often. We love it, and we could feel the personal attachment. Thanks for sharing it with us.
That is beautiful. Also I enjoyed reading how you came up with it. I love you and I hope all is well.

Deborah....What a wonderful touching heart song. A friend of mine asked me just yeterday what I feared the most and I told her that I feared passing on and my family and friends not knowing how much I love them. I am a Police Officer, and everyday when I leave for work my wife and I say "I Love You" to each other. We never know when we are face -to-face with one another if that will be the last time we ever see each other, just like the ones you wrote about in this song did not know when they left home that day that it would be the Last Time For Everything. Your lyrics are very sound and the music stirs you and moves you to feel, reflect, and to look across the room at your spouse, as I just did and say,"I Love You." The bottom line is, 'While there's blue sky above you...take the time to say I love you...cause There's A Last Time For Everything.'

In Radio since 1978, Mark. a.k.a. Hunter Green/// Regardless of the industry's latest musical choice to (CARVE), (PAINT), (MOLD), a teenager into a Country music star. There's something that grabs you by the scruff of the neck and lifts your spirits to hear someone with a voice that has texture, expierence, and doesn't follow the other pathways. This person in particular is no cover artist by anymeans. Deborah Allen has always been and will always be one of the Nation's greatest talents no matter how much the industry changes. BOY'S when they made this lady, they broke the mold. Her style reminds you of Country music. Real, actual country music that's not classified as what we today refer to as country, The country we play today is what I remember programming and kicking to the curb, because it was called ""POP-MUSIC"" !!! My friend, DEBORAH ALLEN IS NOT POP-MUSIC !!! AND I'M GLAD TO SAY, I'M DAMN PROUD !!! KEEP IT UP DEB. THERE ARE STILL RADIO ANNOUNCERS OUT THERE THAT REMEMBER WHAT IT SOUNDED LIKE TO HAVE SCRATCHES & CUE-BURNS ON YOUR ALBUM or 45rpm. THIS SONG "There's A Last Time For Everything" Fits the bill and is one of the most beautiful country songs thats hit the charts since Lee Greenwoods, "God Bless The U.S.A.

This is an incredible song. Everyone please tell the world!!!!!!!
Gerry House would give me "the bell of death", but Deborah can do no wrong! Fans ADORE her, songwriters ENVY her and singers THANK her. This song is amazing!
What a fresh, clever turn of words on an old chesnut of a phrase. "First Time For Everything" is a hit song waiting to be heard. Written and sung by one of the best and most unique voices ever to grace the airwaves of country radio---Deborah Allen.
Sincerely,
Mike Chapman
a very beautiful song very well done

I can't remember "the last time" I so connected with a song emotionally on the first hearing. You knocked it out of the park, Deb!
Todd

Hey Girl, love it. It's what heartfelt song writing is all about. It's what Nashville needs more of. Your are true to your craft.

Hey Deborah - I am speechless!!!! You know I love this song. It has really made me reflect back on the last two weeks. I hope the whole world gets a chance to hear it. This is a song that everyone can relate to. You are truly the best!!!!! Love you....Kim
What a great song with a message that is probably the most important thing we can all try and remember
I love the section towards the end where the band breaks it down and your voice pops out of the mix..you're still singing great as ever. Rock on Deborah!
Bill Lloyd
You have a God felt song that will move anyone who has ever lost a love. When we found out that Debbie had cancer it was on the 27th of Aug we were living in Austin at the time. She went into the hospital and 121 days later she was gone. You go through a time of madness where you think how could you do this to me and leave me alone. Then you go through the memories of all the good times and the bad. All the things you wished you had the time to say again. And then there is "The Last Time For Everything". What a great song, to quote Bob Hope "Thank for the Memories" Bobby Hatfield
Deb, this is a lovely song and performance. I always try to remain aware of how beautiful and fragile our lives and relationships are. I lost my Daddy last October and it does not seem like Mom will be with us for much longer. Every time I left Atlanta over the past few years I wondered if this is the last time I will kiss them goodbye and hear them say "I love you". It is a true blessing to have been aware that it could be and to always leave them with lots of love and peace. We have lost a lot of mutual friends over the years, thank you for reminding me of a few very special ones, they will always be missed but, never forgotten. You are a precious person and I treasure your friendship!
Love,
Vicki
What a great song!! It moved me to the bone,,songs about true life and real events and happinings are so wonderful,, The tenderness in your voice just catch the feeling spot on,,,Rock You Debbie,,

Wow Deborah, beautiful song and awesome letter.Keep up the good work!!!!
Hey Deborah
I'm with Bill Lloyd as far as your vocal is concerned..where it pops out very nice!Seems like the last couple of times we saw each other was at funerals or memorials. At this point in our lives and careers this song is hittin home several times a year between friends family and people we worked with over time.
It never hurts to say I love you before you say goodbye
all the best
Todd
I think this is a awesome song Deborah and I look forward to hearing more. It is so touching and the story is wonderful. You go girl.

Hi Deb, that song is awesome and it should remind everybody to live your life to the fullest that you can because you will never know when the last time for everything will come. HOW SO VERY TRUE!!!!!! Thanks for that beautiful song, how true that is Sandi.
I Love it, Absolutely Amazing, I would love to hear you perform this on radio, but I can understand you having another artist perform it, You are an Amazing Talented Beauty and Thank You for sharing your gifts with us. Love, Richard
This message really hits home for all of us who have hit 'the halfway point' or more. Thinking that I may have 10,000 days (or far less) remaining really stresses the importance of each minute, hour and day.
Incredible song and even better performance. Thanks!!!
Deborah: It's a beautiful song and I was moved by the words you wrote explaining the life of the song. You are awesome and this a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love and total admiration, beautiful song and beautiful voice and beautiful lady!!! Kathy Miller
Deborah,
What a moving song. It hit home time and time again. Thank you.
Peace,
Hugh Bennett
I've been through that kind of loss personally. You said for me what I couldn't say myself. Can't wait to hear this on the radio. It needs to be heard. Thanks
A beautiful song with very touching lyrics but the best part are the vocals by Deborah. I first heard her sing with Jim Reeves and have been hooked ever since. I could listen to her sing the phone book. What a wonderful artist.
Deborah, You sing this song so beautifully...the lyrics are touching, everyone can relate to some degree to this song...It will be a hit and I hope that you release it. Have a Blessed Day! Debra Johnson Russell
dear dear Deborah....this is such a beautiful song...and such a beautiful lady singing it! I am proud to call you my friend. XOXO, Eliza
Deborah- This song is so awesome and your voice has always been amazing. My mother passed away this past January so the words really ring true for me. I sure hope we get to hear you on the radio again really soon!!! Sheri Bieter
Its awesome, Very moving!
Hey Deb,
Just listened to your new song and loved it. I think it is a beautiful 'goose bumply' song. That's how I know I love a certain song and want to hear it again and again...if it gives me goose bumps.
I would really love to hear this song sung as a duet with a male partner too. I think it would make even more of an impact on the heart if we heard two voices, yours and a gifted male singer.
Wish you the best of luck with it!
Deborah, this song is so beautiful and poignant. I know it sounds silly, but I have a lot of animals, and their little lives here on earth are so short, so I really try to spend time with them because "there's a last time for everything", and then they are gone and you can't have them back.
It reminds us to be kind to everyone.
AWSOME!! Just like there is a first time for everything there is a last time for everything and we don't realize that. What a great idea. What a great song.
Deborah,
Now that I have wiped away my tears after listening to this beautiful song, I want to thank you for being the angel who sang it.It took me back to my father's bedside as he lay dying. And although his eyes were closed, he heard all the prayers and words spoken to him expressing what others wished for him to know, as they couldn't be there: like how his granddaughter loved dancing with him at her wedding, how proud and thankful his son and daughter were to have him as their father, how loved he was, and that it was okay to go. This was my last time for everything with my father. And then he waved good bye.
Thank you Deborah for once again reminding everyone of the preciousness of life and loving one another and the need to live that love while you are here each day.
Jeanne E.Holloway
This is a beautiful song with a tremendous message that everyone needs to hear...by the way, I love you and your mom...and I miss you!
God Bless...
Hey Deborah! This song really gets to me! My late husband was KIA in Iraq and this song really gets to me. I wish everyone would take the time and cherish EVERY SECOND they have with their love ones....you are never promised tomorrow! Love you girl and miss you! Tell Raymond hello!

Great song from great songwriters!
Awesome vocal from an incredible singer!
Powerful, lovely, poignant and so important to hear. A great song and an outstanding performance!
I knew when I first met you as a teen that there was something special about you. So beautiful with a heart as big as Texas, I knew that you would do wonderful things in your life. I wasn't disappointed. You have written some beautiful songs. As a radio programmer I usually had to listen to a song at least three times to get a feel for it. Not this one. The first listen and you touched my heart, tears came to my eyes as I related to your lyrics and thought about the death of my father and other loved ones. Everyone can relate to it regardless of age. This will now become your signature. This is an out of the box hit. I'm going to post this link everywhere I can, to share with everyone I know. This is a masterpiece, I have never been so moved by a song and you express my feelings after the my fathers death much better than I ever could. God Bless You Deborah.
Mitch McCracken
Hey Deborah, you know how much I love this song. I've told you numerous times, but I'll tell you again....on a deeper note. I don't know if you've ever noticed, but I always get a little teary eyed when Kelsie and I are standing behind you on stage, watching you sing this song. Especially in Laurel, MS....my hometown. My mom and friends were there. Every time it reminds me of all the family members and friends I've had. All of which I've loved, and most of which I've lost to cancer.....especially my father. I kept watching my mother's reaction while you sang this song....trying my best not to cry before she did. I'm guessing the feeling is mutual sometimes, huh. This song really is a steady reminder that life is precious and uncertain, so appreciate the time you have with the people you love most. I'm about to call my mom right now to tell her I love her. I think anyone who listens to this song or reads this comment should do the same for someone they love. You might not get a second chance, so don't waste it.
Deborah this is a beautiful song and I agree with the person who said they fell in love with it the first time they heard it, as I did too. You have an amazing voice and are as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. This song is SPECIAL and I can't wait to see it climb to the top of the charts one day soon! You deserve it!
Deborah... I have always adored your voice and your writing. This song rings true to the heart of anyone who has ever faced the loss of a loved one. It reminds me not to miss opportunities to hug, lift up, encourage, affirm and love others. May your gift of song bless you in unexpected ways, whether you are up there in lights or not. Hope I have the chance to hear you do this live before long. It will be a pin drop moment, I'm sure.
DEBORAH...BOBBY HATFIELD TOLD ME TO LISTEN TO YOUR MUSIC......AWESOME...BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!
Deborah,
Last Time for Everything is Deborah Allen at her best. I feel your heart, I feel your tears and I hear the passion in every breath and every word. You have an amazing song here, don't let anyone tell you any different...I would add it as soon as it hit my desk. If you produced it, outstanding!!! It flows like nothing I have heard, just a beautiful, beautiful song. Steve Amari
Deborah, this song moves me to tears. There's no other way to describe how I feel after listening to it. It's BEAUTIFUL in every way. The lyrics are stunning - simple, yet so profound at the same time.
I don't think I've EVER heard you sing with so much emotion, and you have always been the queen of conveying the emotion of a song through your voice!! This past year has been a year full of losing loved ones and dear friends, and this song is so very healing for me.
I'm remembering a day in May, 1986, when I stood in an airport in Albuquerque, NM, as I was flying home to Texas from Colorado, where I lived at the time. A few hours earlier, I had gotten a phone call from my mother telling me that my sweet daddy had died suddenly that morning. I asked a man standing next to me if his parents were still living. He said, "Yes." I then explained the reason for my question, and I said, "Do me a favor. When you can get to a phone before you go to bed tonight, call them and tell them both how much you love them. You never know when it might be the last time you get to say those words to one of them."
I'm so proud of you, as always. God gave you such a gift! You are even more beautiful on the inside than you are on the outside. I'd love to come see you sing this LIVE somewhere! And...I love you!!!! ~ Junanne
Bobby Hatfield told me to come and check out your song. I do agree this is an exceptional and the quality of your voice is as Bobby has said beyong compare. This song has such a nice feel to it. Touching everyone whom comes near it shall be come duly attached to it and they to will find an enter self to reflect upon. As a person that is not in the industry but in the industry of God I know he is in you and has given you this ability. I look forward to visiting with you on a spritual level in the future. Dan Isral Chaput
Gotthe link from Mitch McCracken. Great Song. There's always a chance for a song like this to get sappy. This one didn't to me.
I liked it. And...having spent about 3 decades in radio...I can be a bit jaded at times.
Best of luck!
Just magical, Deborah. I am so proud to know you. You just get better and better. This is my favorite song of yours since "baby I lied" and your singing!!! Whew!
Could you possibly sound any better Deborah? This is your old friend Ramona Payne/Entertainment Journalist: You have never writtne a bad song in all of your career, and you could not sing a song badly even if you truly did try to. This song is no different than the first time I ever heard you sing "Delta Dreamland"!!! You gave me chill bumps all over my body then, and you just did that again with tears included on this tune. You are still the Queen of Nashville when it comes to your beauty, and your honestly when you sing just gives credence to the fact that your voice is still touched with the very tips of Angels Wings as they bestow upon your vocal chords what God gives to you so freely: You are the greatest female gift that God ever gave to any song Deborah. It has always been about your talent, and not just your beauty in this crazy world of the music industry: I was honored, and blessed to hear your new song. God bless you, and Raymond always: Mona
Hi Deborah, I really love the message of this song but you know the real blessing to me is the letter. As you write about all the support you have and the folks that you have had the pleasure to know and count as friends, it becomes appearent how such a beautiful song can find it's birth. Love in, Love out.

WEll, considering what I am going through right now...with my mom's living room turned into a hospital room...it was tough to be objective.
Good luck to you and Curtis. I am sure you could have a great record. But so could Tim McGraw.
This song is beautiful.
Honest and Heartfelt! Great lyrics and vocals. Love the production.

Deborah, Over all I like the Song. I hear some work on parts of the Melody, and the Chord changes. You sing "Great on it" I just feel it's not finished. Even some parts of the lyrics.

Deborah, this song is very touching. It will reach inside anyone who has ever experience any sort of loss and make them cherish the time they had and the memories that will be forever branded on their heart and mind. It is well written and will be timeless in the beauty it conveys for life as a precious gift. Thanks for the music!

Wow what a great song and AWESOME vocal. Deborah I have always been a fan and you still have IT. Larry is out of town will play it for him as soon as he returns.
Hey Deborah, thanks for telling me about this song. I listened to it and when it was over, I just had to listen to it again, and then once more. It's so beautiful and meaningful. You are such a talented songwriter. I just don't know how you do it. Songwriters to me are like magicians, creating songs seemingly out of nowhere. Thank god for such amazing talent. What would the world do without people like you? Awesome song Deborah and I hope I get to hear you sing it in person one of these days.
Mark
Deborah, my throat closed as my heart swelled. I'm not moved by just anything due to my past. Thanks, this song, let's me know I still have a heart. It belongs in a Hallmark movie.
Deborah, my throat closed as my heart swelled. It lets me know I still have a heart. It's a Hallmark song. Franklin D. Bennett, Jr.

Deborah, you never cease to amaze me with your amazing gift of songwriting. And I'm not saying that because I'm partial. This is definitely a jewel and I'm sitting here crying after hearing it. I lost my mother almost 2 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't wish I had said this or done that with her. This song has truly touched my heart and made me realize that no matter what there really is that Last Time For Everything! Thanks for asking me to listen to it and for letting it touch my heart! I love you bunches!

Deborah,
Absolutely beautiful and expresses something so important that we forget far too much. It really moved me.
How beautiful! When my father died in 1994, I didn't get to say I love you." He was in a coma. Also, my father-in-law passed away a couple of years ago and I was there when he died. This is so poignant.
Deborah,
I played this last night for my little sister, who just turned 40, who is a recovering alcoholic..She cried when she listened to it..she is 7 mths sober this week and accepted Christ as her saviour her 2nd mth here..she is so grateful that she didn't wait too long to realize she was losing everything in life and her family...This song really hits home for us, and you sing it so beautifully. It's on our prayer list that you get this released, because this song carries a powerful message and you deliver it so beautifully! God Bless you! ..Debra Johnson Russell

This is so beautiful thank you so much for sharing it with us. It moved me deeply.
Deborah,
Very beautiful and earthy, non complicated. .the way songs should be. . I’ve been a very longtime friend of Curtis’s and we have been through numerous endeavors together. . actually for 33 years. Just want to say that you guys compliment each other in your writing. He is and shall always be my “musical brother”. Keep the lyrics coming. .It shows that there is “Another Side of Love”. Hope to meet you someday.
Tony Piro
Deborah,
This song certainly captures the fact and fear that I am
cognizant of every day when I think of my love ones: that
they may not come back and how truly horrifying that would be.
As I pray for their protection, I am aware of how I love them and
would hurt were they not to come back. Also, I think of how they
would suffer were I not to come back to them as I pray for God's
protection through the day. Wow! Your song captures feelings in the
heart. It will touch people with tenderness and encourage us to be
more appreciative of the people in our lives.
Betty Pollard, Augusta Ga.
DEborah,
This such a great song and the words are so strong & true.I consider Curtis the best friend i have in the world and both of you are the best writers when you get together and do songs like this one and also as Tony said "Another Side Of Love" is another great one with hit written all over it.It was great to see you again in Nashville last Friday night.
Lin Jones
That is a pretty song! Thanks,

This song inspired me to get up from my chair and kiss my wife who was sleeping on the couch. It caused me to pause and think of everyone that I have neglected to call. Life is a busy business. Thanks for making me think.
Henry
A very touching and moving song that touches the heart
in soft and loving and tender way. Very beautiful.
Makes you think how life should really be.
From the first emotion filled note, this song grabs your heart with a voice that can always cut through to the truth. These lyrics will make you call anyone you're every loved just to tell them again.
Nice job Deborah-
One of my favorite songs that you've ever written and performed! Ryan and I love hearing you sing this song. It's so beautiful and heart-felt. And every time I hear it, it makes me think of everyone I love and care deeply for... and that certainly includes YOU! I love you so much, thank you for all you've done for me and my family. YOU ARE FAMILY! Its good to listen to this and hear your voice everyday. I LOVE YOU!
xoxoxo Kelsie
Deborah- comments above should be: 'These lyrics will make you call anyone you've ever loved, just to tell them again'
I got off my butt and I am in Atlanta to practice my photography at the Atlanta Nascar race.....Tonight, I took pictures of a sunset that was awesome and the nearly full moon......I am going to Spring Training with the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday.....
I told my wife how I miss her when Im gone......The Mandrells are mourning the loss of their dad this weekend as are the children of Cecil Scaife ( music row veteran)...... I took pictures today for Jeff Gordon of a Make a Wish child.....I'm glad I was there to help..
The economy stinks...BUT you have to live...You have to appreciate the real important things in life......There's a first time for hearing that song....and a Last Time for Everything....Tell Raymond I can LOVE YOU too:) Jimmy Carter

Tom Owens (friend of Bill Cunningham)
Deborah, I try to always end phone calls, letters, emails, etc with a truly heartfelt "I love you". There is a piece of needlework at our backdoor hung at eye level which reads "Do not part in anger for we may never meet again". Your beautiful song reminds us to keep our families and friends always close to our heart and leave no loving words unsaid.
Thank you.
Joan S.
"There's a Last Time for Everything" is profound. It's a wonderful piece that will touch everyone, and I can't think of anyone who would be able to deliver its message better than you.
Deb, We are keeping your in our PRAYERS! Time is still here when we are all gone. Take care of your self and write us a few more songs. When your feeling bad it is a sign that something is wrong. Next time get your butt to the Doctor office or you may not be around so long.
Very well done.
Wilky
Hey Aunt Deborah that is a really beautiful song. I miss yall and we thank you for thinking of papaw when you sang this song. I miss him like crazy every day! Amanda Webb
Dear Deborah - I hardly know what to say. The best writers and singers bear their heart and soul to the world, and you do that better than anyone I know. "There's A Last Time For Everything" puts life into perspective and opens your eyes to what is truly important. I know we all think we are immortal, but as time goes on, we realize we are not. So take time to say "I love you" and know that "There's A Last Time For Everything". I love you Deborah.
~ Marilee C ~ Pegram
This is just a beautiful song. I LOVE everything about it. I lost the love of my life when I was 21 in a tragic hunting accident. I have found a different kind of love now in my new husband, and even more in my daughter! This song remindes me to tell them just how much they mean to me everyday!
Thanks Deborah!
Miss you and love you,
Jessi

Fanatastic song! You've got to release this song. Your voice is still awesome. Go for it Memphis Girl.
Yes! You are so right. There is a last time for everything - good or bad. Like the song!! We should also remember there is a last time for earthly suffering as well. My dad went through seven years of treatment for chronic lymphoma and I remember the last cancer treatment he had - no longer to be a slave. He passed away soon therafter but it was the last time he would physically suffer. What a great thought for those of us left behind.
I love this song! The lyrics are so beautiful... it puts me in the mind of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You". Much success with this track.
I thought it was heartfelt- I could feel the heart in it.
It also made me think how fitting it would be in a good movie - I kinda thought of the end of "Castaway." That's the feeling I got, musically, even if the lyrics don't quite mesh with the context of that particular movie, but I still think it would work superbly in the same way. This is definitely something to be proud of, no doubt. Congratulations and your family surely is a very understanding and loving one to be apart of. Thank you for sharing and letting me listen and comment. This is why I love MySpace.
Madam, I believe you have a hit here. I would definately buy this, and I would give it as a gift. Beautiful! Gina
One of the most heart felt songs I've heard in a long time. This song has a little something to say for everyone who listens to it. WOW what a song and the way you sing it can really make a person stop and think. I've been married to my wife for 24 years and no matter what we may be doing or where we my be going the one thing we always do is to say to each other is "I Love You" the song is so true and Titled right because "There's A Last Time For Everything"
Beautiful Song:
I think this is a gift to all listeners because who cannot recall a time when they thought they had more times to come...and then..they realized that it was the last time. I love the depth of the song, and thank you for reminding us all ..in such a beautiful way..to treat each day like the gift that it is!
Thank you for such a splendid song!!! When Judy invited me to a benefit concert in our hometown of Memphis all those years ago, I was in awe of your talent!! I have been a fan ever since!! I recently lost an Aunt to pancreatic cancer, and in 2002, I lost my best friend/brother to AIDS. This song is the embodiment of how they lived their last few months!! Thank you for putting to music the words and emotions I have felt!!
Deborah, what a beautiful song and touching story behind it. It is real poetry, and a message I will take to my heart. Your voice is like a clear crystal. How wonderful to hear it again. Margaret Ellis
Wow! You have again put together a beautiful song that just captures my attention. Your voice is still so incredibly strong yet delicate. What talent to have that range. As far as the words, you said it all! You go girl :)

Deb
I had an appointment I was running late for, but I was told about this song and thought I'd stop for a moment and listen. Needless to say, before I could get to my appointment I had to re-fix my make-up. The song should come with a warning... "If you plan to listen to this song, don't do it unless you've got time after to sop up the tears." Is a heart-wrenching tear-jerker! D.
I wept! Beautiful and true. Thank you. I needed to hear this today.
Neely Reynolds
Awesome song, and if you listen to it make sure to have some kleenex handy, as it is a tear jerker, and i love this song.

Deborah, that song is so beautiful. My father and I had a really horrible and disfunctional relationship ever since I was twelve. He called me and asked me to come to Texas and help him. I did. I got him to the doctor (finally) and he'd had a stroke and had dementia. Anyway, he told me he forgave me and I forgave him. For the first time in 30 years he told me he loved me and hugged me. He is 84 years old in a nursing home and we love each other. That was so important to me! This song hit home with me and you sing so beautifully and you have such a good and sweet spirit. I luv ya!
You are wonderful.
Debra,
True, emotional, heartfelt and a great production. Since I last talked to you, Mom passed on December 11th. I was there, holding her hand, looking in her eyes, Mom looking in mine when she took her last breath. She and Dad are together again, flying and happy. While she could still converse, before the alzheimers completely took over, she told me she wasn't scared of dying, that she wanted to go be with her Lord and Dad, that she had, had a wonderful life and she wanted me to and to not worry about her. I am so happy for them and I know that they are more alive than ever. Two pilots together again. After a month, they still hadn't put her '2008' on her stone and I don't want it on, as I took Dad's '1995' off of his. I'll see them again.
Love you Girl,
Frank
Deborah, The song, the story are truly beautful and I just wanted to say, I Love You while there is still a blue sky above me

I have always thought you wrote and sang some of the most beautiful and inspiring music and listened as you re-invented yourself and added more character and depth to your artistry.
This song lets my heart flow with the words and brings many, many great memories of my loved ones.I myself lost my Sweet Mom over a year ago. Simultaneously, I was having a very difficult time in a romatic relationship. I always remembered though, that love and caring still existed within me and I always remembered to say " I Love You " to those who meant the most to me. Even if they are gone,I miss them and still love them deeply.
Thank you for such a warm, thoughtful and heartfelt song.May you and all those you love feel safe and loved.
GM Boore
DEBORAH,
LOVE THIS SONG. RECENTLY IVE HAD TO LAY TO REST SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT WERE VERY SPECIAL TO ME AND THIS SONG REALLY TOUCHES HOME FOR ME. I HAD THE PLEASURE TO BE AT YOUR "EVENING OF MISSISSIPPI MAGIC" AT M.C.....WOW WHAT A SHOW! THERE I HEARD YOU PERFORM THIS SONG AND WAS MOVED IN MY HEART. MAY GOD BLESS YOU CONTINUALLY WITH GREAT SONGS AS THIS!
BRADLEY
Very nice lyrics. I am not a huge fan of new country music, but this reminds me of older style country. My cousin said I wouldl like your song, of course he is promoting it heavily (but he was correct). He did not think I would know who you were, but I remember "Baby, I Lied" from way back in the day. You have no real reason to believe me, but you also know my cousin Hunter Green, I could give you his off air name, but that would mean betraying his confidence in a public forum, which I will not do. I have a son named Hunter as well (His actual name). My cousin seems very proud of that fact, even though he knows it was not in honor of him, but for me deceased brother-in-law. I have seen your comments on my cousins FB page, thank you for supporting him, and vicariously all of us, as we mourned the one year anniversary of Uncle JB's passing. I have great memories of my Uncle, and my time with my cousin when we were kids, but I digress. As I was saying, very nice song, and for the rest of you, no I am not pandering...just speaking from the heart
I don't believe I have ever found a song that has touched me in this way. "I Fall To Pieces" by Patsy Cline may have been the only other song I have been so moved by the first time I heard it. Please release this song to radio, Deborah, so others can hear it and be touched like I was!!! <3
This song is absolutely touching. I cried. I haven't been so moved by a song since I heard "I Fall To Pieces" for the first time. Please release this song so the world can hear it and be touched like I was!!!!!!
Deborah, I'm not one to be emotional and all that, but I just lost my mom and turned 50 and single as well. The song Last Time For Everything burned through me like a hot knife. I realised I have so much that I have not lost. I want to live every day keeping that last time in mind and thankful for what I do have. Thank you for your music .

Just saw Deborah at Bluebird Cafe, heard her talent and the song Last time for everything. She is a beautiful person and a sincere soul.
Thanks Deborah, just heard you at Bluebird Cafe and think you are great. Nice to meet your mom too. Beautiful voice and a wonderful person you are.
Awesome song Deborah and very true. Thank you.
Quite beautiful and very moving song, Deborah. We should all "hit pause" a little more often...
Beautiful song . . .
Paula
I listened to this song with a tear in my eye, wondering why I've never heard it on the radio here in Cleveland Ohio.
On Aug. 19th 1986, my father dropped me off at my uncle's house, and went to see his mom. I never suspected I would never see him alive again. A few hours later, he died of a massive heart attack at the age of 43 years young. Ours was a family that didn't say I LOVE YOU for some reason, and so, I never said those 3 words to him, and now it's too late.
This song deserves to be heard...
I hope every country music fan out there, gets to hear this song.
This won't be the last time I hear this song I hope..........
